Khichdi with moong daal
It is the time when baby will start chewing and swallowing food. Moong daal khichdi has protein, fiber and carbohydrates. Also maximum toddlers faces the constipation problem which can be avoided by adding some green papaya and beans in the khichdi.
INGREDIENTS
- Moong daal(roast little bit so that nice aroma smell will come from the khichdi)
- Rice(raw rice to make it soft)
- Raw green papaya.
- Fresh green peas
- Carrots
- Beans

INSTRUCTIONS
- Chop the beans and carrots in to small small pieces. Also, dont forget to peel the carrots.
- Peel the green papaya and make it to small small pieces. Make sure to remove the green skin. Also try to keep the green papaya away from the toddler as the white liquid is not good for the toddler skin.
- Roast the moong daal till aroma smell comes.
- Mix all the vegetables, moong daal and rice and rinse it thoroughly.
- Add all the above ingredients in a cooker and add pinch of salt, 1 spoon jaggery.
- After 2/3 whistle depending on water quality remove the cooker from the gas.
- Add one spoon of desi ghee in a tadka pan and add some cumin seeds. When cumin seeds start spluttering add them in to cooker which has khichdi and close it.
Side Dish
As after 1 years toddlers wants to taste different different things. They might not like eating kichdi daily. To avoid that add different side dishes so that they will enjoy the food. Give the strawberry slices, mango slices with kichidi. They will enjoy it.
